Montessori Philosophy and Pedagogy for Early Childhood 4. As such it also includes a full overview of the Montessori method and philosophy of education in that context. It introduces a look at equity in education, diversity, special needs and the family and community influence on child development. This class begins with a required orientation meeting for those pursuing a Montessori credential.
Following orientation, this class meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and one Saturday monthly. Completion of the Montessori curriculum classes and a full academic year of practicum are required to become credentialed.
Please Note: The age group for your studies and practicum must match the age for the credential being sought. It includes instruction in the recognition, management, and prevention of infectious diseases, including immunizations, and prevention of childhood injuries. It also includes instruction in emergency preparedness and evacuation, caring for children with special needs, and identification and reporting of signs and symptoms of child abuse as well as numerous hours of instruction in nutrition training.
